Yesterday, Chad brought Mom to her first lab (blood work drawn). They were there 5:55 am at UCLA. There were already 8 people ahead of them. The lab opens at 6:30 am. Yawn.
Mom's blood sugar still has been running a little high. We've been trying to limit her carb intake, but we also need her to eat for energy. So we have been advised to increase her insulin and allow Mom to walk after meals. Chad took Mom for a short walk up and down the driveway. At the same time, Mom's making a mental to do list for Chad: fix the cracks in the driveway, water the plants, water the tree, take in the trash cans, take out the trash, wipe down the shower, etc. I'm telling you, this woman's mind is sharp! She doesn't miss a beat.
Mom has been resting more and sleeping longer since she's been back from the hospital. She has also been requesting for her pain medication less, as well. We hope she is not bearing through any pain without medication just so she won't endure the side effects.
Thanks for checking in!
