| Thank you, Betsy Kawahara, for Mom's card! It was delivered to her room the day before she was discharged. |
Today I woke up and I felt like I won the lottery. Mom is back home! For the first time, since Mom went to the hospital, I feel like I can exhale. She was discharged yesterday afternoon. Even though we're not out of the woods, yet, we feel like we're moving forward to life after transplant and more healing.
There's about 17-19 medications, insulin shots, blood sugar, temperature, and blood pressure readings, and dressings to be changed daily. Right now, we're trying to get into a routine at home. So, Mom prefers no visitors at the house, at this time. She is still getting acclimated to being home and of course, getting used to having her children be her nurses. We joke that Chad is the Head Charge Nurse (everything has to be permitted and approved by him), I am the LVN (the substitute/backup), and Johnny is the "Lift Team" or part time cook (also known as Guen's personal assistant, hahaha...shhh...).
We will let everyone know when she's up to receiving visitors.
Thank you!
Guenie

Glad to hear she's at home! That should help her spirits!
